The First Friday of each month is dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Holy Mass is offered at 12:10 pm followed by Exposition and Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.
First Friday Adoration follows immediately after 12:10 pm Daily Mass and concludes at 5 pm with Benediction.
A sign-up sheet for committed adorers will be posted in the vestibule on the last weekend of each month, however you are invited to join us at any time during First Friday adoration.
The first Wednesday of the month is set aside to honor St. Joseph. Join us for our First Wednesday Devotion: The Seven Joys and Sorrows of Joseph.
This devotion is prayed immediately after 12:10 pm Daily Mass on the first Wednesday of the month.
The practice of Friday Requiem Masses (Masses for the Repose of the Poor Holy Souls in Purgatory) goes back to the Middle Ages. We have a duty, as an act of charity, to pray for the Poor Holy Souls in Purgatory -- especially at Holy Mass.
When the liturgical calendar allows, Friday Requiem Masses are offered at the 12:10 pm Daily Mass, especially for the deceased parishioners of St. Stephen Parish.
The yearly St. Joseph Altar is a Sicilian tradition that honors St. Joseph as the foster father of Jesus and the patron of the Universal Church. In 2022, we hosted our first St. Joseph Altar at St. Stephen. It was a great success -- we fed over 300 guests and made almost 9,000 traditional Italian cookies.
Consider helping with the St. Joseph Altar this year -- there is a volunteer meeting each year in January or February.
